General Description

Acrylonitrile/butadiene copolymer is a synthetic rubber made from the polymerization of acrylonitrile and butadiene. It is commonly known by the trade name Nitrile rubber or NBR. The copolymer has a high resistance to oil, fuel, and other chemicals, as well as good physical properties such as high tensile strength and abrasion resistance. Nitrile rubber is also well-known for its excellent resistance to degradation by ozone, sunlight, and weathering.
